Hi, I’m Colin.

Twenty years ago, I was standing in line to register for my Master's in Arts when I unexpectedly found out I was going to be a father. It was an overwhelming rush of shock and awe. In other words, panic!

In that monumental moment, I looked back at a decade of immersive theatre research - Noh training in Tokyo, ensemble practice across Europe and Asia, and asked myself: How do I translate this work into other contexts?

So I did what theatre had always taught me to do. I looked for the human truth underneath the vertigo of this moment, and I followed it. That pivot into organisational contexts changed everything.

What I discovered is that the skills theatre obsesses over - human connection and the human architecture of story - are exactly what's missing in most organisations. Leaders inform when they need to inspire. Teams align on process but not on meaning. Organisations have vision statements that nobody feels. The emotional impact that drives alignment and action is weak.

If this is you, you don't have a communication problem. You have a story problem. And that's a strategic opportunity.

Most storytelling training works from the neck up. My work starts somewhere deeper and is informed by the neuroscionce of story practice - drawing on somatic practice, embodied intelligence and the slow, attentive disciplines of theatre. When the body is in the room, something different becomes possible. The story that started as personal becomes your most powerful professional tool to influence, inspire and move people.

Your primary storytelling instrument is your body. My approach leverages that truth.

My background spans theatre, improvisation, embodiment and design thinking across twenty years and three continents. MA Dramatic Art cum laude. Japanese Government Fellowship. Former captain of the Norwegian national rugby team. Certified Design Thinking facilitator and embodiment coach. TEDx Münster 2022.

If any of this is landing, I would love to talk.
